woman & god
— is an ongoing project that combines personal narrative with research to explore the wounds of religion and the evolving relationship of women and the divine.
Through journals, poetry, and audiovisuals, I follow the spiritual and somatic experience of the feminine emergering from a masculine schooling of god and religion.
Between our traditional religious upbringings, and a desire for a new relationship with the divine that feels authentic and true, we often find ourself both tending to the wounds and yearning for a connection that promises not to hurt us further. We yearn for a sacred practice that does not contradict our sensuality, make sin of desire, silence of truth. This project is about discovering the balance between testimonial work, and the work of imagining a radically new spiritual future.
